Here's Aiden sporting his not-so-new-anymore helmet. He got his helmet right before Thanksgiving so it's been almost two months now. It's supposed to help correct his very flat head which developed as a result of him having torticollis when he was born. Torticollis is when the muscles on one side of your neck are shorter than the other side thus always pulling your head to one direction. It's more common with multiples since they are so crowded in the womb. Since Aiden's head was always pulled to the right he always laid on that side and his head got flat. The helmet leaves open space on the flat parts of his head and fits snuggly on the round parts so that as his head grows it will grow into the open spaces making his head round. No, it doesn't squeeze his head like braces do! He does pretty well with it except that it makes him hot. Fortunately it's winter! He wears it 23 hours/day (basically all the time except for when we clean it and give him a bath.) Hopefully he'll only have to wear for another month or so. One of the things that Dan and I look forward to is being able to snuggle up close to him and have him feel our face next to him again. There are perks to having a helmet on your baby though! He can hit his head on almost anything and it doesn't faze him!

Ahh, he looks so cute! They have both grown up so much. You have such cute boys. I'm glad the helmet is working...at least I assume it is since you said probably only another month. At least he won't ever remember it!
My poor Carter is stuck with a weird shaped head b/c the pediatricians around here don't believe in the helmets! I'm glad he's tolerating it well, and look forward to seeing his progress!
