The last weekend in June we went on a jeeping/camping trip. We decided to explore an area we haven't been to before and headed west of Utah Lake to the Wasatch-Cache National Forest. We're trying to downsize a little and camp out of the jeep rather than a camper, trailer, four-wheeler, dirt bike and all that. It's fun because we can explore more in a jeep than with a truck and trailer. We were able to find a great campsite that was secluded, shady, and had plenty of fallen trees for firewood. We also found some great trials, beautiful landscapes, and the ruins of an old mine. Unfortunately it was sealed up so we couldn't get inside.
We were hoping we'd find water to play in and had no idea that we'd find a resevoir out in the middle of the desert! (It wasn't on the map!) We have an inflatable raft that all four of us can barely fit into together. We all climbed in and Dan paddled us across the lake. On the way back he figured out how to make a sail out of the oars and his t-shirt and sailed us across! He used to do some sailing when he lived in Missouri so he had a fun time using his skills! (We didn't think to take the camera with us while we were in the raft so this picture is an afterthought.)
Of course Aaron found some mud and a bunch of other kids to play with!

i like that picture of you. cute. that does look like a fun camping trip...wish we could do it with you. we're heading up to New York to camp (kinda...in a KOA cabin but still very rustic) and watch the pageant next week. oh, and we bough airplane tickets for christmas, so can't wait to come out and see you and your family!!
