Jeep Safari '09

Introducing Rocky #3. This was after a day of jeeping in the rain. It's usually shiny and black. This is the third jeep we've acquired so far!

Perhaps you've wondered why I haven't posted pictures from our jeep safari vacation. We took some really great pictures, unfortunately we lost them when this happened.

Dan was driving too fast when he went around a turn on this gravel road causing the jeep to roll a few times. Don't worry. No one got hurt. (Luckily I wasn't in the jeep at the time!) Everything inside the jeep got thrown around and unfortunately we didn't realize until later that the memory card to the camera had gotten lost in the accident. Maybe that's it on the road. Guess we'll never know!
The pictures that we don't have were of Hole in the Rock, a place where the pioneers lowered wagons over a cliff to get them down to the river, where they then proceeded to cross the river and head up the mountains on the other side, a crazy venture! It was really awesome to be there. We also had pictures of us climbing the through huge gorges in an area called Egypt. We spent a day on a trail called Hell's Backbone. The rangers told us that it was impassible due to snow, but we put it to the test and conquered it. It was so fun and so beautiful.

Here are a few pictures that we took after the accident.

The kids have so much fun together.
Amy just loves to do big kid things!
We stopped in Helper, a small town that we've driven through dozens of times but have never stopped, and spent some time downtown. We actually enjoyed it a lot!
We thought it was pretty funny to have the kids standing in this guy's crotch.
Amy really likes her backpack.
