A New Thanksgiving Tradition?

Dan and I are considering a new Thanksgiving tradition. This year we went camping for the weekend! The kids were at their mom's so it was just Dan and I. We camped west of Beaver out in the middle of the desert. Sure, it was cold, but we were very comfortable! The first thing we did was start the furnace in the camper. The second thing we did was gather lots of firewood. Since the wood is so dry out in the desert we were able to carry whole trees that were dead. We built up three tall walls around our campsite and had the truck and camper serve as the fourth wall. We kept a constant fire going and we were toasty warm. We spent the daytime on the trail and the evenings around the campfire. We had so much fun that we think this would be great to do every year. We can't wait to bring the kids camping with us over Christmas break!

We jeeped out on trails around the west side of the state and into Nevada. From looking at the map we thought we would be able to eat and get some gas at some of the small towns. However, the towns were more or less ghost towns, and after spending the whole day out on the trail we rolled back into camp about 20 miles after the gas light went on. Whew! Just in time!A cabin we found out on the trail.
Pictures never really show how amazing things really are. The moon was beautiful and kept it nice and bright all night.
There was a giant CAT near our campsite. It was fun to climb on!
